More Tributes

I knew Danny from high school. He was known as Logan. I considered him a good friend and was always happy when he came over to my house with all the other punk rockers. We may have looked strange to most people, but to people who knew us, Danny included, they new we were good people. I wish i never lost touch with you Danny, and did and do regret not trying to look you up. You will be deeply missed. My prayers are with you and your family.I will see you again brother.

To - Danny Anderson - friend of the Leo Gonzalez family since his childhood

The Ultimate Sacrifice

Thank you so much dear friend of mine
For giving your life for me
You’ve made the ultimate sacrifice
For friends and family

You bring to mind a Friend of mankind
Who died nailed to a tree
He gave up His life for you and me
And for all humanity

For greater love no man has known
Than to lay one’s life down for a friend
And you my friend have shown that love
Until the bitter end

I graduated with Danny. I never knew him as Danny though, only as Logan. He knew everyone it seemed. And everyone was his friend. He was just such a good guy. I used to give him a ride home from school and have always considered him more than someone I just went to school with. The last time I saw him was in 1999 when a bunch of us went bowling. He was a part of so many of our lives and I think those of us that knew him back then are all so very humbled at his bravery.I am so very proud of him for the sacrifice he made and am truly honored to be able to say he was a friend. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

We knew Danny when he was stationed at Ft. Stewart. He will be missed very much. I remember last New years he was showing us card tricks at our home, we had a blast that night. Just before he deployed. Danny, My Husband (kiki) and Ben went out to a pool tournament. He had a happy soul, he loved to be around people and talk. He was always smiling. He was so excited when you got pregnant Mori, he was so happy that he was going to be a father. He loved you guys so much.We are so sorry for your loss.He will be missed greatly.Danny will always be in our hearts and memories. To the family you will be in our hearts and prayers.God bless

To the family of Danny Anderson. I want to offer my deepest condolences at the loss of your husband and your son. I cannot even imagine the loss that you are experiencing, nor the pain. Being a military mom myself, whose son is overseas also, I can understand your pain. I pray daily for our men and women who are over fighting for our freedom and just doing their "jobs" as they have been trained. Please know that Danny is a hero, and that he is loved and will be missed greatly. I know that nothing will take away the pain, but please hold on to your faith and to each other, and find comfort in knowing that he is watching you and smiling down on us all, and from now on there will be no more fear for him. He is guarding the gates of heaven, with the rest of his brothers, and patiently waiting to be reunited with the ones he loves the most. May God Bless you and comfort you at this tragic time. With much love, a Marine Mom from Ingleside.

I knew Danny for over twenty years. Such a happy soul he was…always so up-beat… always so friendly. I never saw him upset.

Danny grew up down the street from us. He was always either at our house hanging out with my youngest brother or my brother was at his house hanging out with him. They laughed, watched movies, played video games. Even when they grew up, it was this way. Danny called my mom “mom.”
What I guess I’m trying to say is, we considered him family.

I last saw Danny at Christmastime when he came to visit my family. True to his character, he was happy and eager to tell us all about his upcoming assignment - Iraq.

I didn’t want him to go. Neither did my sister…or my mom…and we told him so. It was too dangerous! But Danny was excited about it. As he explained to my brothers and my husband, he had a job to do…a job that he took very seriously, a job that he believed in.

“I’ll get in there, do my job and stay out of harm’s way.” He smiled as he said this, confident of his every word.

That was the last time we saw him.

I know I speak for my whole family when I say, we loved Danny and we will never, ever forget him.

To the Anderson family – our deepest condolences. We are grieving with you. We are praying for you.

My heart is very heavy today upon learning of Danny's death. I was one of Danny's teacher at King HS. Danny is a student that I remember well. In fact, he crossed my mind last week. Danny was such a plesant, mild-mannered and kind young man. In a time when it was "cool" to be crude and rude, Danny was always a perfect gentleman. He was taught and brought up very well. He always used the best of good manners.
His family should be very proud of Danny as he always represented them well. I hope his young son grows up knowing what a fine man his father was.
My life is richer for having the privilege of knowing Danny. This is such a tragic loss to his family ,friends and our community.
Upon his arrival, heaven became a better place. God bless you ,Danny. You and yours are in my prayers. You will be missed greatly.

hi, my name is val, danny and i were friends from high school and beyond.i met him when i was about 16 or so.he always had a beautiful smile, and showed it without shame.he always had something good to say.one thing i always remember is danny's big booming laugh, big booming laugh.he always made me smile.at one point and time,we lived just a few houses down from his fathers home,he and his laugh were frequent visitors.his eyes were the only thing brighter tham his smile.he was very good natured, the type of person you could ask a favor from and not have to worry about it "bothering" him .if he could help he was happy to.and apparently,on top of all the kindness-there was true bravery.the kind that only true men have.there was a need and he stood up to meet it.i don't have what it takes to put my life on the line for something i feel is right.danny did ,maybe one day i will feel that kind of pride.hopefully if i ever face diversity,i will have, like danny, the bravery and courage to do what i think is right.MAY GOD BLESS HIS BRAVE SOUL.and may he take care of his family in their time of need.i think danny would rather us remember all the good times, and not be sad.i think all that knew him should keep this in mind.with all this in mind,i think the last thing to be said is that danny will be loved and missed. -your freind always--valencia bell

"To Patti and the rest of your family,

All gave some, some gave all. There is no way to properly thank you for having such a brave and wonderful soldier in your family. I know the burden of your loss must be great, but please know this, Danny is a true hero.
No one has expressed my feelings or those of your fellow Americans as eloquently as Abraham Lincoln...
"I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.

I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.""
